Join Red Stick Spice Company's owner and chef Anne Milneck along with Lili Courtney for a day-long food and farm adventure that ends in some delectable cooking fun! Hop on board our chartered van as we take you on a tour of the best farms and food artisans in Baton Rouge. Lili will be snagging ingredients at each stop because we're ending the day with a cooking class!
We will start the morning at Red Stick Spice with hot tea and hearty breakfast breads. Each student will receive an insulated tote--because you're going to want to purchase lots of goodies for yourself along the way!
Departure: We'll steep you a hot cup of tea to go and fill your belly with warm scones and breakfast breads.
Stop 1: Red Stick Farmers Market to hear from Belle Ecore Cheese and Forte Grove Bakery plus a visit with the other farmers and artisans.
Stop 2: We're heading over to Fullness Farm to visit with Grant & Allison Guidroz to hear about the next wave of small farming. This is a must-see farm smack in the middle of Baton Rouge.
Stop 3: Our favorite butcher is on the schedule! We'll be stopping at Iverstine Farms Butcher to talk pasture-raised chicken, beef and pork. Plus some pretty amazing charcuterie fixings.
Stop 4: Next up is Three Roll Distillery (formerly Caneland) for a tour and tasting. This completely unique tour is a beautiful glimpse into how Louisiana sugarcane makes its way to a smooth glass of rum.
Back at the Shop: We'll head back to Red Stick Spice for cooking, libations and fun! We'll start off with a charcuterie platter while we cook up all our fun finds along the way. All that plus lots of lots of hands-on cooking with Anne & Lili. So. Much. Fun.
